Exterior: Where its at...

At this point just trying to get a basic value structure down with color. Keep going back & forth between blocking in & noodling. Glad to finally post...

Hey guys! I too felt like I needed to throw something up there so heres my interior. I still have miles to go. I know need to do lighting properly, a lot more careful painting, and there are other issues like color and what not, but I figured that if you guys spotted something that felt just downright weird I'd really appreciate the heads up. Thanks!

interior

hey guys. There hasn't been a new post in a couple of days, so here is my interior so far. I am hoping the colors make him look less sad. The values are still pretty weird too. Everything is still really, really rough, and there are plenty of mistakes I have yet to tackle. So please, go nuts.

Class dismiss

Hi guys, I just confirmed with Steve and want to inform everyone that we are not going to have class on the coming Monday, 3/16 because of the screening. Thank you.

Vue

Hey Guys. This is the software I was talking about in class the other day. Check out the spotlights section and look on the site at the galleries. It's really really crazy what's possible now in 3d.

Have a good weekend, and I'll see you all on Monday!

Color Mask shop

I am sure these are all going to print out black. I am going towards the larger one as a final piece. Pretty much the same palette but slight variations in each.

Mask Shop Interior Color

Here is my interior so far. I'm thinking it could be tightened up some more, but I'm not sure how to proceed.

Any suggestions on how to keep tightening it up and keep the flat color are appreciated.

rough exterior

hey all, here is my exterior as it stands now.

I'm really hitting a wall with photoshop, and its looking really clumsy. Any suggestions?

Interior Mask

My is still in blocking in stage. Hopefully I will eventually over and lose the lines. Does the space still feel empty after I insert my character? Good luck everyone!

in case the print shop hates me again.

line drawings

Hey guys, these are my line drawings for the environments... working on the color studies right now but I thought I'd post these and hopefully get some feedback!
See you all tomorrow night. :)

Up all night-anybody else?

Hello! I have been working on my interior. From the beginning I wanted to use those beautiful Moroccan lamps somehow and the crazy light-shadows they make, but I am wondering if I have gone too far? Since there is so much stuff on the walls already? Also, the shadows on the ceiling make an x, which makes the eye go directly there...any ideas? I put something in the foreground of the color one, does that help?
Also, I am wondering about the palette, I am going for a warm analogous palette, with some accents of green..If you look at the colored one, there is a roundish mask on the main table, I painted that in pretty opaque. Does it look weird with that green reflecting light? I also feel like I lost anything I gained -photoshop paintingwise- from the last project..anyone else having issues?

exterior values and colors

Hey guys! I am working my exterior for class tomorrow. If anyone checks the blog between now and then I would love some opinions. I am still not sure which direction I am going to head in, so any advice would be appreciated!

A note about JP

Hope you all are having a productive weekend! Just wanted to let you guys know I talked to JP about this blog and he thought it was a great idea to get feedback and help each other out. He is going to save his comments for in class BUT he said he would be checking this blog. So since we all have had our share of disappointing kinkos printouts, posting here is a way to show him our work digitally and so more truly. Good luck on those environments this weekend! Post if you need some help or want a second opinion!

Welcome!

Hey everybody! Welcome to our blog for 117 Spring 09, a la Balmet! Please, please, please use this blog to post work, share cool links, get feedback and help or just to show off your crazy imagination pieces!!

Dinosaur Imagination Painting

Hey everybody, just for fun I am posting my last imagination piece...seemed people mostly thought it was demented yet funny. For everyone outside of Balmet's class, we are assigned once a week an imagination piece. We are encouraged to not use any reference and to use traditional mediums.
