My fan boat turned into a Monster boat!
Hey everybody! Happy Easter! Hope you all are having a nice day!
This is what I have so far on my fan boat. I still have to work on the color of the wood and on the stuff inside the cabin area. I am wondering if those red bits are too overpowering? I am thinking of adding some flames onto the plastic siding then the red would be more throughout the boat. Any thoughts on that? My idea was to make it like a kid's jungle gym-clubhouse mixed with fan boat-swampy everglades elements. Any other comments would be helpful. Thanks!

He Chantrelle. I don't think that the red bits are too much: they don't pop out which brings up contrast. Its a little dark overall. Hmmm, its actually more spooky than playful mainly because of the dark but also some of the silhouettes. Its pretty angular so maybe push drapey bits to be more curved for contrast. I'm not sure if you are going for total camouflage, but I would brighten it up a bit. Hope that helps.
ReplyDeleteHey Chantrelle, I thought this was modeled in Maya when I first saw it!
ReplyDeleteI agree that the boat is pretty spooky and evil looking, however badass. Overall it is looking very dark and green. You could try playing with the color temperature where the boat is in light/shadow. You could even push the lights and darks, because right now it doesn't feel like it is under direct sunlight. Some highlights and cool cast shadow shapes would make it look even better.
Cool! Thanks so much for your comments guys! For some reason, my photoshop paintings always get so dark! I will definitely try to lighten it up and make it less spooky.
