i've been having a lot of trouble with this one. hopefully this time it gives off a more creepy vibe? i slapped on a quick color pass - something i may use in the finished version.
the ground feels empty right now, but i will be adding texture and stones on the ground to indicate a pathway.
what do you guys think?

Hey Dora, overall I think it gives a creepy vibe. Although have you think about inverting the color and having the warm in the front and cool in the back? It just might make the castle area more ominous. You might want to have a branch or something swoop over the top of the comp to contain the eyes movement within the compositon? My eyes tend to lead off into the empty sky above. It's just my opinion though see what others think. Otherwise the whole thing is coming out very nicely.
ReplyDeleteHey Dora,
ReplyDeleteI think its creepy. But, it doesn't feel like their in the forest. I don't know how important that is or not in your interpretation. It looks like they are between a creepy forest and a creepy castle, which is outside the forest.
The top left feels kinda empty even though the castle is there. Maybe its a value thing, in which case I have no advice. I don't want to kill the depth, but I dunno if you could just fill up some of that space with more (creepy) trees?
Thanks guys!
ReplyDeleteVu - I see what you mean about the empty space. Will fix that with your suggestion. Also, I will play around with color more and see how it'll feel reversed.
Michael - You're right, the forest does feel empty. I'll fill the back of the wall with more trees. It will also help tie this piece in with the other moment piece.
