ok, still working on it. I took off the beak and gave her a pointy nose instead. I tried to give her something magical to aid in the appearance of a transformation. Instead of feathers I went with birds. Let me know what you think.
I really like how you did the feathers on the girl, with the birds flyng her away. Nice. but one thing that catches my eye and can't get over, is the guy's hand. It just doesn't seem to work some how. Keep his fingers in the positions taht they are, but have them stuck together or if you really want to keep them spread like that, then really spread them. Have them all straight fingers and really spread out.
Hi Liz, somehow it looks like she's hanging off tree branch or she's stuck up there and she needs to get down. Also be careful with the feathers on her arms, it can begin to look like she's hairy or beast like. Hope that helps.
Looking better Liz, I get the magic feeling :) The curve of birds ends right where the branch starts in the background, making it look like a branch. Maybe let it end more towards the owl? Plus that is where they are taking her to right?
This may be crazy, but you might get more emotion if you abandon the magestic feeling. Maybe make the transformation more physically painful for Jorinda. So shes not just upset about being separated from Joringel. Like if one of her arms is like a contorted wing, shrinking, but still human. Like something from a science museum. She doesn't have to be bleeding or anything gross, but It might be more obvious of a transformation.
