I took JP's advice and did an up shot of my castle, then I played around some more and came up with this idea and I liked it a lot. Do you think this shot is working, any comment to improve would be appreciated. Thanks! All of you guys stuffs are looking good so far. Good luck!

  1. Hey Vu, this is definitely different. If you're going for the "it just rained" effect, I might add a few more smaller puddles. Think of what baron said about 3's. I really like it though, but I am unsure if it fits with your other one. Let's see what others say. I hope that helps?

  2. Hi Vu,
This is very cool. I don't know what to say about the design because it's too cool for me. I love it. The only problem for me is that it looks like a modern photography. It feels like a street in London somehow. I see you are trying bring scary feeling by those brunches, but I'm not scared enough. I would make those bricks rougher. Also, the leaf looks very elegant and romantic. I would replace it with a feather because it's more related to the story. Maybe some birds tried to get out of here and were caught and dropped some. If you can make the feather wet and dirty, it will make the castle more dangerous.

  3. Thanks guys for the critiques, Im glad the concept works for you. Justin Ill definitely tweak the puddle more and vary it up with additional smaller puddles. Kanako, wow, the wet and dirty feather is perfect, thank you, I owe you one! I'll also rough up those stones too. Thanks!

  4. Hey Vu,
as already stated, really cool idea. It is 'reflective' of how crazy the story is by the upside down nature. Anyway, if you continue with this design I'd address the perspective of the castle. You'll probably need to place the eye line way above your composition since the viewer is looking down. I have a feeling that the bricks of the street and the castle would converge to vps on the same horizon since they are both placed on a vertical axis in relation to the eye level. If you are looking straight down at the puddle like that, you'd only be able to see the castle if it were right next to you, and the view would be an extreme upshot with corners of the building approaching 90 degree angles. To see the castle clearly, maybe change the bricks layout so you are looking at the puddle at a more oblique angle, like you were standing farther away....or the same would happen if you were to mentally kneel down lower to the puddle and back up a little. I'll try and put up a draw over to make more sense. Cool and quick turn around!

  5. Steve thanks for pointing that out,I knew my perspective would be sketchy somehow but I can't point my finger on it. Your explanation is really thorough and help a lot to clear it up for me. By the way, nice pun!
