color comps. Opinions appreciated

  1. I wish I were as productive as you today, Liz...
For the flower scene, #4 is working better than others so far, but I think the flower needs to be more redish. Overall, the color palettes look a bit too saturated for the dangerous/ scary moment. #3 looks like a happy dusk. J.P. said we can use yellow/orange and purple combination, but we have to really desaturate the purple to create scary feeling. (Somebody please correct me if I'm phrasing it wrong.)

For the forest scene, I like the upright on Jorinda on #1. Colorwise, #1 or #4 I guess. The magical power looks like it's coming from Joringel. You may want to extend the power to the bird a little bit so that the bird doesn't look like she is a passenger. She should look more like she's the cause of the transformation.

  2. Hi Liz,
for the flower scene, number 5 is nice.
for the forest scene, number 1 looks solid.

  3. Hey Liz, for the flower scene, I like the dark value of the right side on #1, but I prefer the colors of #5.

For the transformation scene, I could go with either #1 or #3 since they have different lighting scenarios. It feels like a lot of brown on #1 though, so yeah a combination of the two?

    Good luck!

  4. Hi Liz,

I'm gonna defer for the flower scene: I really like the palletes on #3 & #4. I like the dramatic feel of #3, feels like a very important moment with the rich saturated colors along with #4, it definitely evokes "mood" to me. #4 is great because of the desaturated palette. in contrast to my previous comment, it gives it a sense of discomfort, isolation..

As the for the forest: definitely #1. Good palette, interesting lighting. I'm sure you will consider more in terms of lighting but this one is looking strong.

    that's it...
